Gazing at celebrities
The early frames on attraction to media figures, work that treated the person doing the gazing as a slightly odd specimen and the celebrity as an object of study rather than a participant.
Historians use it as a mark of how far the field has moved. Almost nothing in the current literature treats the viewer as strange. The interesting correction is not that gazing is normal but that the frame itself was the problem - one person studied, the other one an object.
