The song where the singer pleads to be given the exact shape a man wants: a French phrase, a café in the dark. A whole musical built around wanting to be a specific imaginary person for somebody.
The template for a large fraction of the twentieth century. Cole Porter did not invent the impulse, he published it, and the song is still the most precise description of the thing that every subsequent song about obsessive attachment is a worse version of.
