The subscription tier
A monthly payment that buys recognition, and a chat in which the size of that payment is the mechanism for being noticed. Gifting, tiers, emotes, raids.
It solved the problem nobody had been able to solve: making a one-sided bond feel reciprocal without the labour of an actual relationship. A glance at your comment costs the creator nothing and lands like recognition. It also means the amount of money is now the amount of personhood, which is a strange thing to be true about somebody's evening.
