This one is about a woman who posts on the internet and somehow that became the centre of somebody's week, and instead of writing it up as a symptom she wrote it up as a story. That is the move. Nobody else in this queue managed it.

Everyone laughed about it and everyone showed up. The whole economy of this runs on a relationship with somebody watching, and the conference for that relationship decided the watchers were a distraction.
And so do people who like novelty and good conversation. Which is to say, normal people.
