Anti-stalking legislation passed in several jurisdictions, defining unwanted repeated contact as a criminal offence.
The first point at which the law acknowledged a parasocial bond can be dangerous to the person at the other end. The offence is about contact, not feeling, which is the correct boundary and the one most online argument resists.
